Reported by one of my Debian users (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=402745). The code in lib/md5.c:md5_read_ctx() has a warning about alignment, but src/update.c:patch_file() calls into the md5 library using an unsigned char * which has no guaranteed alignment. Bang! :-(

There's a patch attached to the Debian bug report that's quite simple - just ensure alignment of "checksum" in patch_file().
