I am using Ubuntu 6.10. I installed Graveman from the repositories to burn Puppy Linux onto a DVD-R. When I put the blank DVD-R in the DVD drive, a window came up, like it always does in Ubuntu, telling me what I would like to do with the blank DVD, and I said ignore. I started up graveman, and I wrote the .iso file without fixating the DVD. Now, after that burn, whenever I put in any CD or DVD, there is no autodetect. Also, when I try to go in through nautilus, I get an error that says:
Unable to mount the selected volume
mount: must be superuser to use mount
This never came up before. And when I check the /media/cdrom and /media/cdrom0 directories, they are both empty. The DVD drive itself is healthy, it can run live CDs and read them. However, I think there was a bug in graveman that caused Ubuntu to stop reading the CDs. It's too much of a coincidence that the it would work before graveman and stop working after.
