drag shuttle (the automatic shuttle that scrolls the view when moving e.g. an AudioClip) has been updated in git and for now the 'normal' shuttle uses now the same logic.

As a means of navigation, it is not optimal, the track finder, and arrow key navigation simply is faster :)

Hi, just my 2p: 2D shuttle was almost impossible to control for me, as it was implemented before (in version 0.42 I think?).

After using the new set of facilities for zooming, keyboard navigation, and the track finder, I've to say I'm delighted. If I want to move to a different area of the sheet, it's a breeze. Better than shuttle imo.

in git a new 'track finder' has been added that is even faster then using vertical shuttle, but it all depends on what you want to do of course.

  • Activate the track finder:  < K >
  • Start typing in the name of the track: select it from the popup list
  • the track will be centered in the view, mouse cursor is moved to it's track panel: you can start editing the track right away


Finding tracks works across Sheets.

perhaps add an option to "preferences", where the user can choose a 2-dimensional shuttle, or horizontal-only.

Yes, we should probably restore the shuttle, but it needs be improved.

currently, [TAB] is an interactive horizontal scroll -- called "shuttle, i believe. didn't we used to have a two-dimensional shuttle?

i'm finding navigation around a large session (long timeline and many tracks) a bit cumbersome. if [TAB] allowed scrolling the sheet vertically as well as horizontally, we would be able to access distant points in the sheet quite readily.

anyone else missing the two-dimensional shuttle?
