I haven't seen this error with Parkes.

Quiliro did not see this error while doing a standard installation on his Yeeloong this week [1]. He installed to /dev/hda1.

I found out that the /target chroot doesn't have any /dev/hda? when the installer fails. "aptitude install grub-yeeloong" in chroot only works after I "mount --bind /dev /target/dev". After that the installer can continue without errors.

We haven't made any changes to our packages. It would be nice if someone else could confirm this before I trace this any further.

The installer on the Yeeloong fails at step "Select and install software". Messages on tty4 say:

Setting up grub-yeeloong
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error:
cannot find a device for /boot/grub.

No path or device is specified.

I was installing to /dev/hda3, but I've done that before (though it's been a few months) without such errors.
