Same error message happens (undefined method etc.) on the web interface (but not on the CLI) if the SOA contains something not being an email address such as:

traducteuritalienfrancais.fr. 86400 IN SOA ns1.italian-boutique.com. 1. 2011112701 86400 7200 3600000 86400

If the SOA request gives something unexpected (case in point: reply is $DOM IN CNAME .), zonecheck does not seem to handle the fact that the SOA reply is not was it expected.

The result is:
---- fatal ----
f: Le contact contient des caractères illégaux
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 ERREUR: undefined method `record_entity_expansion' for nil:NilClass

Both messages come probably from the fact that ZoneCheck was expecting a true SOA reply and of course in "CNAME ." it was unavailable to find any contact email address to parse
