This is all it give for MIPS: id: cpu physical id: 1 bus info: cpu@0 size: 796MHz capacity: 796MHz capabilities: cpufreq In contrast, it gives much more detailed information for x86: id: cpu product: Geode(TM) Integrated Processor by AMD PCS vendor: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] physical id: 1 bus info: cpu@0 version: 5.10.2 size: 500MHz width: 32 bits capabilities: fpu fpu_exception wp de pse tsc msr cx8 sep pge cmov clflush mmx mmxext 3dnowext 3dnow lshw should at least show the architecture if not also the make and model of CPU.
