Which version are you running? Me, 4.1.1.2

Rosella,

I see the weird effect in your L/O.

1) I simply copied the text into an HTML document, edited the CSS to display with FreeSerif.  No weird bars.  Find attached.
(The spacing is also vastly better, BTW).

2) I simply copied the text into a second LibreOffice document.
(hoping to experiment with different fonts.
But the weird bars disappeared in doing this.

Beats me.  Looks like a L/O glitch.

That's odd.

The thing looks almost like a tatweel, although it wouldn't usually overlap the 'noon' like that... and it's longer than the tatweel in FS.

And I see you are using L/O Writer.
But I tried copying my sample into that program, and did not see this effect.

Could you please send me those couple of paragraphs as text?

Hi Rosella,

I'll need a screenshot for this -- I don't seem to be seeing it.

Final noon-noon is one of those ligatures we discussed elsewhere
(U+FC8D).  However, on my system, a line with just
   بنن
displays as I expect.

It also appears in the middle of the line, it's that the ligature is broke and spawns a wacko bar after it :(

When NOON+NOON are found at the end of the line, a strange bar appears, as if it was a sign of hyphenation, even though no hyphenation actually occurs.
