Both problems have been fixed in revision 12378.
Please re-open the bug if you still experience problems.

Also: the preferences allow to set both MathML and image output.  In my tests the first is honoured.

We should use a combobox, not two toggles.

It might be worth noting that enforcing XHTML parsing results in different (wrong) rendering of the TeXmacs website in most browsers.

If we activate MathML output for HTML conversion (e.g. in order to use MathJAX), the output extension is forced to .xhtml. Enforcing this seems unnecessary, since at the very worst the server serves the file as Content-type: text/html header instead of Content-type: application/xml+xhtml, and the browser parses as HTML which is more permissive => no problem.

This is bad for the TeXmacs website, whose files are all currently html, since it disallows the use of MathJAX.
