description

With Mu4e v1.6.x the following error is reported when using bbdb:

bbdb-mua-display-records: No buffer named *mu4e-view*
bbdb-mua-edit-field: No buffer named *mu4e-view*

Mu4e view buffer is now called *Article* as based on GNUS article.

see mu4e author comment: https://github.com/djcb/mu/issues/2104

Environment

  • GNU Emacs 27.1 (build 1, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.24, cairo version 1.16.0) of 2021-03-28, modified by Debian
  • mu4e - mu for emacs version 1.6.3
  • BBDB version 3.2 (20210108.38)

Proposition

I proposed the following patch which for me fixes the issue. But it is an idea which should be reviewed by a elisp professional.
