The bug occured in 2.5.21, and it wasn't solved by 2.5.16 (cant remember patchlevel, was the actual one in these days).. 2.5.4 solved it.

I haven't run into the bug again yet, so I think you can close the issue. I will reopen, if I stumble into it again.

Please check if this bug still is in current CVS version.
You should find a tarball of current CVS in files section of
this project: http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/mldonkey/

Does this problem also exist when switching between 2.5.4 and 2.5.16?
2.5.21 is still in heavy development because of the swarmer function. But because there have been no CVS commits recently for this version I advise you to stick with 2.5.16 instead. But you should use apply a patchpack from my page (www.8ung.at/spiralvoice) so you get a 2-5-16r core, there 60+ patches, some cosmetical stuff, but also important things - just have a look at the patch section here...

Addition:
since then, there seems to be no change in mldonkeys cvs-source, so I am pretty sure, the bug still does exist, although i found a workaround and no longer suffer from it.

1st: dont know if the problem still exists. (as i can't debug ocaml, I spend some effort on circumventing the problem. I still have the ini's, but no longer the dl's (these are finished meanwhile))

I found a workaround for it (use mldonkey-2.5.4 for rehashing & switch after 12 hours of reindexing back to 2.5.21)

2nd: yes, I moved all ini files and it happened again.
File & dir rights are okay. checked that.

I guess there is a bug in the reindexing algorythms, as just deleting files.ini & file_sources.ini worked well when rebuilding them with 2.5.4 (which is rather ooooold and it took me hours to check that version out from CVS).

Is the problem still existant? Did you try to delete all ini files? Are file and dir rights ok?

Wed 09 Jun 2004 11:31:05 AM UTC, original submission:

when i restarted my box, i forgot to kill mldonkey nicely.
when i restarted actual (today's cvs checked) mldonkey, all files seemed gone. recover_temp didnt cahnge anything.

I stopped mlnet, and deletes files.ini, and after restart all files had 100% , and some even more (eg. 102.4%)

i stopped again and deleted files.ini again.

now i have some files at right level, and some were completely wrong.

for example, a cut from files.ini (the file this is taken from, shows me 80 MB downloaded, it has more than 3 Gig, and a du-k shows me that more than 2.5 Gig are already downloaded.)

the sum of all downloaded parts is already higher than the count in file_downloaded.

please fix.
