Ah,I should have spent some more then 10 secs on that idea ...
It is a bad, bad, bad idea!
If you use dyndns neither a cronjob,nor the "fullfeatured" solutions are a good idea, since it opens the door to your mldonkey and after that via "set allowed_commands whatever you like" to your whole box.
If you use dyndns the name you use will always resolve to some IP, even if your offline. This enables some stranger that gets your last IP assigned to enter your box.
Certainly that's not feature mldonkey should offer, espacially someone willing to risk that, can use a script and cronjob.
A secure solution would be to establish a ssh-connection to the donkeybox and dynamically setting allowed_ips from within your logon-script.
