This will work with windows if you just add wget.exe to the medium that the download script contains.

I need the same feature for a friend. Is it possible to use this feature if the computer with broadband Internet has only Windows?

Thanks for your bugreport.

The current svn contains a version of synaptic that can generate a download script based on the current selelections. The user can then download them on a different host to e.g. a usb-stick, zip, cdrw.

After that the downloaded debs can be imported into the synaptic cache again.

The only disadvantage it has is that it requires to do the "reload" on the local (slowly connected) machine.

Testing/Feedback is welcome :)

Cheers,
 Michael

It would be fantastic. Im stuck with a windmodem for a while.
(Yes I ran apt-get dist-upgrade over dial-up).
But I have high speed at work.

Hi!
I think that inclusion of apt-zip support into synaptic could be appreciated from many users without a adsl connection...
