Did you try your Gnutella search tests with the patch from this bug report? With this patch I searched Gnutella and downloaded some
files without problems using GTK2 GUI.

This is what I found:

I did a search on G2.
I let the result window open and then I did a search on Gnutella.
After this the GUI disconnected from the core.

Moreover, when trying to download a file from the search list. The file does not appear on the transfer window. Before the last patch the files which were on my download list disappear.

Greetings Rico

If you can reproduce your Gnutella error please post the
complete error message output.

I also made some Gnutella tests, weird results.
GTK2 GUI was not disconnected though not all results
found and displayed in HTML are shown in GTK2 GUI.

1. search: HTML 104 results, GTK2 GUI 11
2. search: HTML 1700 results, GTK2 GUI 149
3. search: HTML 11829 results, Sancho 11829 results

Also this last search produces traffic even minutes after I
forgot it in MLDonkey, Sancho displays 38 kb/s traffic and
mlnet log output is really verbose.

Yes now seems to work fine :D.

I did some test when I have done search on G2 and then I did search on Gnutella. The GUI disconnects again from the core.

I'm not sure if is it the same problem related.

Confirmed fixed here, same for you, Rico?
If you also have a positive result this patch can go into CVS.

The attached should fix it (untested)..

I do not exactly know why this bug exists, but I found a hotfix
disabling sending bad data, apply attached patch and re-compile.

This patch will not be applied to CVS because it does not
fix the bug, only circumvent it.

G2 and Gnutella were ok.

The matter is with:

  • Fasttract. :(

I got the error message when using:

mldonkey -> ok
fasttrack -> NOK, made it disconnect the GUI cvs from the core
G2 -> ?
Gnutella -> ?

Could you please limit the search to one network only and try
all networks available for searching? This way you can see which
network is responsible for the problem.

Currently there is not file to download but most of the time is the default net:

  • Mldonkey

The problem appears when I try to make a search using all the networks availables, then the mlgui disconnected from the core. I'm running in one console the mlnet and in other the mlgui because I notice that using the mlnet+mlgui seems to be very slow. I try again to reconnected it but after a 45 sec. it disconnects again and so on.

My question was, from which networks are you currently downloading files?
I am asking this because the error messages are in connection to opcodes transmitting data from users you are downloading from. To better reproduce the bug I need to know from which networks you are really downloading from.

When compiling I use this command:
$./configure --enable-multinet --enable-gui=newgui2
$make
I copy all the exec files to my /usr/local/bin
Then I have all the networks availables up.
