Patched in version 4:4.4.5-2+squeeze1.1gnewsense1: the binaries have been compiled without Skype support. The 'Add account' dialog no longer shows a Skype option.

Kopete in metad doesn't have an option for Skype, so it's not a problem there.

The Kopete IRC client has an option to configure a Skype account. This only works if Skype, a non-free Voip client, is installed. The dialog box to create the account says that the user should install Skype and has several other references to it, including hyperlinks to the Skyp website.

I've confirmed this problem on Parkes. I haven't checked on metad yet.
