resolving; not clear this is a spamass-milter issue and I can't reproduce it.

I have the same issue. Occasionally I see something like this in the log:

sm-mta[19121]: i2JC3Njd019121: Milter (spamassassin): write(D) returned -1, expected 5: Broken pipe
sm-mta[19121]: i2JC3Njd019121: Milter (spamassassin): to error state

But it seems to recover from whatever was wrong in under a minute.
I see these one minute down-times once or twice a day, but I don't see anything in the log leading up to it.

I've encountered the same problem with a spamass-milter compiled with g++ 2.95 ; then I tried to compile it with gcc
3.2.3 and it seems to always add the headers now.

Not sure that the problem is really solved, but previously spamass-milter stopped working after a few hours, and now it's ok even after a few days.

(server is sparc/solaris 7 and sendmail is 8.11.7)

Hope this helps ...

Basically, after some amount of time spamass-milter stops adding the "x-Spam" headers. The mails are still making it through and are still processed by spamd. I get the "clean message" and "identified spam" messages from spamd logged. But no headers are added to the mail.

It would seem that spamass-milter is still being called for every mail since it's being passed to spamd. Just not sure if this is a spamass-milter or sendmail problem.

Any help in tracking this down would be great.
