I had similar problem with the missing X-Spam- headers. What I did was to include "-t 0" in /etc/mail/spamassassin/spamc.conf . See also http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/spamassassin-users/200603.mbox/%3cudvr75fglxd.fsf@area.cc.waikato.ac.nz%3e

The problem is solved.
There was my error in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc
in the following line:
INPUT_MAIL_FILTER(`spamassassin', `S=local:/var/run/spamass-milter/spamass-milter.sock, F=T, T=C:15m;S:5m;R:5m;E:10m')dnl

I was missed an opening quote in (`spamassassin', S=local:/var/run/spamass-milter/spamass-milter.sock, F=T, T=C:15m;S:5m;R:5m;E:10m')dnl
Sendmail accepted local socket parameter, but skipped others.
The main thing was that Sendmail skipped parameter F=T, which defines reaction when Milter returns error.

Hi,

Versions of software is:
RHEL 4.0, Sendmail 8.13.6, SpamAssassin 3.1.1,
spamass-milter 0.3.1, Perl 5.8.5

I see in /var/log/maillog
sendmail[5698]: Milter read(spamassassin): timeout before data read
sendmail[5698]: Milter (spamassassin): to error state

and

spamass-milter[18549]: Thrown error: error. could not replace body.
spamass-milter[18549]: mlfi_close

Recipient receives the message, but without X-Spam headers.
This error repeats on a regular basis and often.
The most of e-mails are processed normally, but some - not.

Short and long versions of my logs see below.

I will be grateful for any help.

Thanks a lot.
