In my config file I have (in this order) :

  • a section added by Customize to change the 'default font's family

(custom-set-faces
;; custom-set-faces was added by Custom.
;; If you edit it by hand, you could mess it up, so be careful.
;; Your init file should contain only one such instance.
;; If there is more than one, they won't work right.
'(default ((t (:inherit nil :stipple nil :background "black" :foreground "white" :inverse-video nil :box nil :strike-through nil :overline nil :underline nil :slant normal :weight normal :height 117 :width normal :foundry "unknown" :family "Inconsolata")))))

  • (color-theme-initialize)
  • (color-theme-clarity)

When I start emacs, the colors are messed up. I have to rerun (color-theme-clarity) from minibuffer to get something decent.

I read the section in http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/ColorTheme#toc12 about changing fonts, but it did not work.

I tried loading the color-theme before the custom face, but it did not help either.

I also tried removing the foreground, background and inverse properties of the face, without success.
