The Beginnings of a Logical Framework

Item posted by Douglas Michael Auclair <dauclair> on Sun 19 Jan 2003 04:16:55 AM UTC.

I have added functionality that provides a function test to function dispatch map. This will be familiar to those who have worked with Prolog -- one builds a series of predicates (all of the same name) with different activation criteria. This functionality is encapsulated in unification variables (which I've implemented to make this system work). One constructs a unification variable from an association list (where the tuple is a test predicate -> functional), and one receives a Release instance when unification occurs (to free the variable for another test -- this can be used for back-chaining, or more commonly, now, for testing each element of a list). I've included comments in the code and a LogicalVariableTest case in tests/.
