AVRDUDE Version 4.0.0 Release Announcment
AVRDUDE (AVR Downloader/UploaDEr) is a program for downloading and uploading the Flash, EEPROM, fuse and lock bit memories of Atmel AVR microcontollers. Previouly known as 'avrprog' and specific to the FreeBSD operating system, AVRDUDE is the first release that supports Linux and Windows (thanks to Ted Roth, Eric Weddington, and Joerg Wunsch).
AVRDUDE supports the Atmel STK500 programmer as well as a variety of direct connect parallel port programmers. Many Atmel parts are supported, and others can be added to the configuration file without having to recompile.
For more information, please see the AVRDUDE project page at http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/avrdude.
