Preliminary serial port support has been added to netkitty in a new development branch. Still under test, but for those of you interested just checkout the "serial" branch on our git repository.
With this new version you can just do
nk -c S,/dev/ttyUSB1,9600
to access a serial port, or
nk -hub -s T,5000 -c S,/dev/ttyUSB1,9600
to distribute data from your serial port device to any application connecting to port 500 in the host machine.
Any feedback is welcomed!

The NetKitty project has been approved a couple of days ago and now is hosted in Savannah. An initial package is available and we have just populated the git repositories with the source code and pre-compiled versions for ARM platforms.
There are two ARM versions. One that run in the OpenMoko Freerunner and other that runs in the BeagleBoard and Android.
