The attached patch adds support for the FTDI FT4232H chip. It's essentially the same as FT2232, instead it has 4 ports instead of 2 and supports MPSSE on 2 ports instead of one.
The FT4232H has a different USB device ID of 0x6011.
I added a programmer '4232h' as a child of avrftdi which overrides the default USB device ID.
A patch for avrdude.conf.in against SVN rev. 1060 is attached.
