This group is not part of the GNU Project.

Oct-2013: Set to inactive as no feedback received us for years. Of course you are encouraged to try and use it. And you can still contact us. We're not dead! We just do our work somewhere else and will return, if needed. ****

Larus Board is a light-weight discussion board written in PHP and a flexible database backend. To run it at least PHP 5.2.0 is required. Storage Backend uses PDO for abstraction and supports MySQL and PostgreSQL (preferred) at the moment. The Interface uses Unicode, AJAX, XHTML/CSS and is rendered by Smarty (PHP Template Engine). Instead of being bloated it has a minimal featureset and uses tags set by users on any posting instead of fixed categories. Any topic can be fetched by RSS. Edited postings have a history to view the differences. It is designed to have a public part accessible from the web and a private part which can be anywhere.

Details (job description, contact ...):

We are searching for some people who are willing to test this software. It's not real beta-stage yet as a few features are still missing, but we're close to it. If you have any experience in PHP and/or SQL, this would be helpful, but is not required. You just must be able to install the package on your webserver (can be a local one like xampp) and handle a browser :)

Along hunting bugs, we mainly interested in feedback around the user interface. This is very rough at the moment. Feel free to open support tickets. If you like personal contact, please send a mail to "saturas".
