This project is not part of the GNU Project.

FRS is a free reservation system for hotel reservations. FRS is compiled with the GNU Compiler for Java and the target operating systems are GNU/Linux and Android. FRS uses hotelsbase.org and OpenStreetMap, optionally also Google Maps and Nokia Maps. Announcements are made on Freecode.

Courses in the German Linuxhotel are made available on request, contact Bernhard Fastenrath for details.
Some documentation is available in the /documentation directory under the project root directory.

A Sletoh.com connector for FRS is available, other connectors will be developed. Connectors are made available in the project only where commercial licensing conditions allow it or exceptions are granted.
The Sletoh.com connector can currently not be published as free software.

The software will be available for demonstration use
(and actual use for hotel reservations) on http://www.kölner-hotelreservierungen.de/. 90% of the revenues from hotel reservations will go to http://www.aktion-deutschland-hilft.de/en/donate-now-gemany-relief-coalition/. It could also be used by traditional travel agencies to regain some customers lost to the internet. However, it currently has no facilities for commission processing.

The reservation emails send to hotels have the following format:

Roadmap:

1.0 — code name "Matthew effect" — will be a limited but functioning internet booking engine.

1.1 — code name "Non-guaranteed bookings are held until 18:00" — will probably add support for Homeless Hotspots.

2.0 — code name "Parish Hilbert" — will probably add support for Google App Engine and/or IBM WebSphere.

2.1 — code name "Environmental Migrant" — will probably add support for the Acer DA220HQL as a videophone.

The software has a dependency on json.org, which adds the licensing condition
"The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil."
