Vemail - Summary
This group is not part of the GNU Project.
Vemail is a Perl/CGI based framework for doing LDAP directory based data management via the web, for network services or other types of services. Vemail can also be described as a flexible HTTP-to-LDAP gateway framework with a focus on service management operations.
Vemail isn't meant to be a replacement for any generic LDAP client. Vemail should be seen as a complementary tool alongside generic LDAP tools. By not being completely generic, but still very flexible, Vemail can provide a more intuitive and productive user interface for managing LDAP based services. The LDAP data administrator(s) can be provided with a user interface thats not just a raw set of LDAP attributes, but which is better modelled after the service management requirements.
