For whatever reason you need to upgrade to the latest patch from this site for your orinoco module.  The version included with the 2.6 kernel is old enough that it doesn't support monitor mode.  I have no idea why!

Hello,

I'm sorry if my question should be answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find anything.

Why is the monitor mode in the new versions of the driver broken? Because, when I use a 2.4.x kernel and the old driver, everything works perfect. But I would like to use a 2.6.x kernel and monitor mode with my orinoco gold. So, what
to do?

Thank you very much in advance,

Sebastian
