(I tried reporting this to your guzu.net email address,
but got repeated procmail errors from your end over the space
of a week - maybe your spool is full?)

Running hddtemp 0.3-beta15 on a FC5/Athlon XP system, I seem
to be successful with a Seagate ST3400633AS (400GB Barracuda
7200.9) SATA drive.

Started with field 194 = 36 at idle, then increased it to 41
by running two sustained reads (find.|cpio) on different
partitions. Fields 7 and 195 also changed, but in a non-monotonic
fashion. Field 190 appears to duplicate field 194. I added this
line to hddtemp.db:

> "ST3400633AS"             194  C  "Seagate 400GB ST3400633AS"

Thanks for writing this - a very nifty utility!

    hddtemp output follows:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
% hddtemp /dev/sda
WARNING: Drive /dev/sda doesn't appear in the database of supported drives
WARNING: But using a common value, it reports something.
WARNING: Note that the temperature shown could be wrong.
WARNING: See --help, --debug and --drivebase options.
WARNING: And don't forget you can add your drive to hddtemp.db
/dev/sda: ST3400633AS:  38°C or °F

% hddtemp --debug /dev/sda

================= hddtemp 0.3-beta15 ==================
Model: ST3400633AS

field(1)         = 232
field(3)         = 0
field(4)         = 13
field(5)         = 0
field(7)         = 110
field(9)         = 22
field(10)        = 0
field(12)        = 17
field(187)       = 0
field(189)       = 0
field(190)       = 38
field(194)       = 38
field(195)       = 4
field(197)       = 0
field(198)       = 0
field(199)       = 0
field(200)       = 0
field(202)       = 0

If one of the field value seems to match the temperature, be sure to read
the hddtemp man page before sending a report (section REPORT). Thanks.
