Hi,

I made some backups from Virtualbox VM folders without any problems - also for testing where I restored them and compared the result with the original ones via diff.
I used the default block size - don't know if this is the best one.
But that depends on the data inside the VM ...

You should pay attention to use a file system for the backup which is able to handle lots of files in one directory, eg. ext4.

If you restore, you can use the new (version 3.4.2) option --createSparseFiles if you want to restore sparse files.

Beside that ... no idea at the moment.

Regards, Heinz-Josef

Hello,
Do you know if there are any technical considerations or settings in StoreBackup that should be considered when backing up Virtualbox 4.2 VM folder? This folder contains mostly *.vdi files which I am unfamiliar with but some are very large 30GB, maybe you have some experience.

Thanks for your time,
Lee
