On the attached message, they gave their From: address as

From: hack.summit() <updates@hacksummit.org>

This is indeed a valid From: header, but it confuses the hell out of addr() and other nmh processing.  For instance rcvdist pukes.  My understanding of the RFC is that when there is <> stuff present, that should be used as the source of the address and not anything else that might be present.

I've attached the offending email message since it isn't private.
