This is so old I do not recall it at all.

Having just read through the comment thread, it might come back.  Maybe.

But looking in cgit things seem to be OK.

(triaging old savannah tickets)

Hello,

Is there still a problem in the a2ps git repository,
or the 'cgit' interface at:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/a2ps.git/?h=arabic ?

regards,
 - assaf

That is quite odd.  I almost never use the cgit interface.  My information is coming from direct commands on the respository.  I will investigate the cgit interface further.  Might be a few days.

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/a2ps.git/?h=arabic
thinks that origin/arabic, origin/master and origin/HEAD exist in the sv repo.

Or does sv's cgit show a clone?

Umh...  Any origin/* refs will be in your clones and not in the upstream savannah repository. They will only contain branches.  Currently there are two branches.  One is the standard default master branch.  The other is your "arabic" branch.

Perhaps I don't understand but I think everything looks fine and normal there without these other branch heads you are referring to.

Ok.  Thanks.

That works, too.

But the origin/master and origin/HEAD branch heads should be removed, too.  origin/$FOO are just polution in global, bare repos like these.

The hooks implement policy which says that Savannah does not delete substantive content.  I am sure you understand.

I can see that you have a new repository and all of the content has just been added and that the arabic and master branches are identical.  I have rolled back your latest commit on the master branch.

  git update-ref HEAD HEAD^

Of course this is not the kind of thing you want to do when you have many people cloning your repository because any clones will now need to be reset in order to pull further updates.  But I understand that sometimes mistakes are made.  I also understand that this is a freshly constructed repository and the details are just getting worked out there.

My push failed to do what I wanted, and the a2ps repo needs a small cleanup.

Please run 'git gc' in it, and then edit packed-refs;
the file should look like:

# pack-refs with: peeled fully-peeled
07f4a3f446408e6c533e5280fa3dda715b1aa02f refs/heads/arabic
a572e93acf79191fbc65bc0dd08d19cd2a646977 refs/heads/master

I cannot get git to push a fix for that upstream, due to the hooks.

Thank you.
