I would love for it to be part of gnu emacs. Do you plan on it becoming a part of elpa or emacs proper? To address the other issues. Is it possible to delete the sourceforge pages to have the savannah site show up first on different search engines to help people find the most recent version? If the plan is to have it go from savannah-nongnu to savannah-gnu what steps are still to be done?

I think that you're right, bbdb should stay on savannah. It would be nice if we could streamline the finding of this repo and if we could streamline savannah to make it more intuitive to use. The second issue has nothing to do with this project though.

Cheers,
Jules

Please see http://www.gnu.org/software/repo-criteria-evaluation.html
The goal is to make BBDB part of GNU Emacs.

yes, it would be great to move to github where lots of emacs package are hosted. I can't contribute to this wonderfull project with savannah :-(

Thx.

BBDB should be moved from savannah. It is hard to find which version of bbdb to use online because this repository is so difficult to find. The user interface is also incredibly unintuitive. This makes it hard for people who want to contribute, submit bugs and the like to be able to. This is such great software, it should be accessable to everyone easily. What's the point of having something be open source if people can't easily contribute, interact with developers and report bugs. I would recommend that we move this project to something like github because that is where many emacs packages are hosted and that is what people are familiar with or gitlab since it seems to mesh very well with the ideals of opensource that we all support. I'd love to talk about this further or work on the move myself.

Thank you,
Jules
