Hello Michele,

still looking for an automatic slide- /videoshow, I have a now new approach:
First create a small list of picture images and a small list of video images

Then run fim showing all images from the picture list (slideshow)
When this was completed, show all videos from the video list.
and so on, and so on ...

Unfortunately I cannot terminate fim after the last picture was processed. After the last picture, fim displays first image and all following images again (endless loop).

My command line looks like this:
fim -N -a -L $list -c 'while(1){display;sleep 3;next;};'
Could you please help me and give me an example, how to terminate fim.

Thank you in advance
Stephan

Hi Stephan,

this would likely require

 - turning off fbdev device
 - invoking the player
 - turning device on
 - (and therefore reetain internal fim status)

It does not seem anything clean, though.

I recommend saving images list and status, and restoring fim.

ciao,
Michele

Hello Michele,

my currently setup slideshow works as follows:
1. create a list of JPEG files stored on various paths
2. shuffle/randomize the list
3. run FIM reading file names from the list

This works great for JPEG and some other image files as well.
I would like include video clips into this slideshow. It can be achieved easily by adding those files to the list. Of course FIM cannot display videos, but would it be possible to run a video player from the executing fim slideshow?

If is is possible, how would I config lauching omxplayer for file.mpeg which then is an entry in my list?

Kind regards
Stephan
