I'm not sure what you really want.

Do you want a local repository?  Then you need no Savannah.

Do you want to push to a repository hosted on Savannah?  Then you have to be a member of an active group, and you are a member of the GNU Hurd.

Do you want a new package on Savannah?  Then we need something to evaluate before we approve it.

On that page you are recommended to update a tarball together with the project description. However, I'd like to use git, specifically   creating a local repository. shows how to use git but I assume the project has to be accepted first to be able to git push to savannah. Any links or recommendations are appreciated. I have already uploaded public keys for ssh and gpg to my account. Thanks!
