Mailing lists are back with a reasonable delay.
The system administrators fixed something in Mailman.

All mailing lists, gnu and non-gnu, system or not, experience huge delays. Unfortunately, I do not know the details, even if I reported the problems to the admins (privately and via mailing lists).

The fact savannah-hackers is also delayed is really inconvenient. Moreover, the notification system did not send me e-mail about this thread, even if I assigned it to myself. I just tried another configuration to get noticed. In any case I will try to check manually, but since it takes more time, it will be less efficient.

I also let some mails I received at savannah-hackers unreplied, because I did not know what to reply and expected details. Since I still know nothing, I will reply so, just to ack the requests.

Hi,

I appreciate the Savannah service and what the Savannah admins do for those of us hosting projects here, really.  There have been a few minor glitches here and there and one fairly major inconvenience due to the compromise in December, but in each case I either a) got a very quick response and fix for the problem or b) was well-informed about what had happened, what was being done about it, and when I could expect service to be restored.

But I'm pretty frustrated that there are a number of projects whose mailing lists are down, and that this problem was first reported 5 days ago, and there isn't even an explanation for what's going on.  My fellow admins and I have both sent email to savannah-hackers (looks like that list is also delayed?) and I have posted my original problem report here, yet I still don't know what's wrong with the lists.

Can someone from Savannah please let us know why this is happening and when it would be reasonable to expect a fix?  Please, just communicate with us and let us know at least that something is being done about the problem.  My project's mailing lists get a few emails every day and I don't want to discourage people from using my software because they can't do something basic like communicate with the developers and other users.

I'm sorry if I sound overly negative.  I do appreciate that Savannah is hosted by the GNU project without any expense passed on to me or my project, and that it is largely a volunteer effort.  But it would be nice to know what's going on with the mailing list problems.  If someone from the Savannah project would like to contact me privately and let me know what sort of things I might be able to help with financially or in terms of donating equipment to avoid these sort of problems in the future, please do so.

Thank you

The GNUstep Mailing Lists are also affected since days. discuss-gnustep for instance has currently a lag of 4 days and 4 hours, growing.

Has any progress been made on this issue? Our mailing lists haven't delivered anything from the weekend.

My mailing lists (GNU make) all seem to be about 4 days behind; ditto for Savannah lists (for example right now I'm getting email that was sent to GNU make lists and savannah-hackers on Friday, 5 March and it's now late Tuesday, 9 March).

Ouch!!

Both the openexr-devel and openexr-announce mailing lists are also "down."  Posts made yesterday have yet to show up.

I'm seeing 34+ hours (and counting) with no mail delivery on the mibble-users list, so I guess the problem is still there...

I will ask the sysadmins if there is a problem on our mail server.

I can confirm the same problem with gnokii mailing list. The emails are delivered with more-less 24 hours delay.

Hi,

Since more than 24 hrs, the mailing-list of the SDX project seem to be down ?!

Is it a specific problem or a more general one ?

Cheers,

p.b.
