No further information has been provided for this support request and RH 7.3 is an ancient OS. Closing  this support request.

Notice I have made a number of improvements in the latest CVS versions after testing over RedHat releases (7.3 and 8) which might fix most of your problems.

Could you please say wether you have tested Tiger's latest
stable release (that is, 3.2) with RedHat Linux 7.3 and what
have been your results?

I have done some tests in a RH7.3 version myself and Tiger
works fine so if I don't hear from you I will close this bug.

The 2.2.4 version, even if stable, was not really that
portable. You should stick with the 3.x release if you are
using a "modern" OS.

If you want to use tiger-2.2.4 you need to modify the
TigerInstallDir definitions in the 'tiger', 'tigercron' and
'config' programs IIRC. (it should be modified to point to
wherever you have it installed).

The latest 3.1 release has autoconfiguration options that
allow you to have Tiger working more easily (since that Dir
is modified when configured to the place Tiger will be
installed).

Anyone that is familiar with Tiger I would greatly
appreciate your help!

I installed the package and when I give the
command ./tiger to run the
script this is what I get for output:

    configuring...

will check using config for 'i686' running Linux
2.4.18-3...
--CONFIG-- [con005c] using configuration files for
Linux 2.4.18-3.
using configuration files for generic Linux 2
Not all checks may be performed...

As you know Tiger than is supposed to output it
progress to the
/var/spool/tiger directory, however, on my machine it
does not put anything
in that directory it is almost as if it didn't even
run...
I have tried all that I can think of and still can not
get this darn package
to work.  I just got this message when I check the
error code [con005c]:

configuration files, specific to the type of
system that 'tiger' is
being run on, do not exist.  It may not be possible to
perform all the
checks due to the lack of certain files.  Some checks
that are performed may
also generate incorrect or incomplete information.

I then did a little research and apparently the
package was built back in
1993 so I decided to try installing Red Hat 7.0 on an
old system and id did
at least start to run... I have come to the conclusion
that this is simply a
compatibility issue between Tiger and any Linux distro
after 7.1... but I'm
not sure.. I am just a little disappointed though
because in the Red Hat
bible written for 7.3 the author suggests using
Tiger.  Well I have tried
and it doesn't install correctly because it isn't
compatible.. I think Linux
Bible 7.3 needs to be re-vised...
