No further information has been provided for this support request for years and Solaris 8 is an ancient OS. Thus closing  this support request.

Could you please provide the changes you have made to the 5.8 area?

I still need to test Tiger latest releases more thoroughly in SunOS 5.8 (and later) in order to fix many of these issues. But it would be nice if you could separate the issues into different bug reports and submit them separately to the Bug report tool. For example, bug #8030 has already been submited related to the 'grep -E' usage in Solaris.

In order to fix the different issues I would need more information, so please consider providing a run of the specific module causing problems (using 'sh -x') as an attachment.

I am new to using Tiger.
I am having diffulty to get run Tiger to Run error free.
Meaning:
Out of box (no changes)
During the execution, I get multiple errors (Ex. expected }, Grep -E option invalid option, ...)

Log file results:
/device/...  owned by sys not root.  But when I look at these file, Tiger is looking at the group not the owner.  Guessing the awk statement is off or the original Grep -E is the culprit.

I made changes in ./systems/SunOS/5/5.8 area.
added patchdiag.xref, fixed the error for the missing "}".  But the change did not reflect in the output.

Sun's Patchdiag tool does not match Tigers at all.

Any help or direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated.  Our company has configuration rules for Tiger version 2.2.3 but it did work for me.
