To confirm, using 2.12 on the same hardware does not produce the error:

$ dmidecode -s system-product-name
SYS-2UDP-S1-LN004

Moving to dmidecode 3.0, using the -s parameter, we get extra output for an unrelated error.  The expectation would be that the error field would be suppressed when it is unrelated to the -s lookup.

$ dmidecode -s system-product-name
SYS-2UDP-S1-LN004
Invalid entry length (16). Fixed up to 11.

$ dmidecode -t system
# dmidecode 3.0
