The version recommended for ubuntu 14.04 is davfs2_1.4.7-3_i386  according ubuntu man pages:

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/trusty/man8/mount.davfs.8.html

Ok. Thanks for the help. I've already create a issue on cryptomator support site.

Case can be closed.

  • If there isn't a reason to do otherwise it is best to just use the package that is provided by your distribution. In case of Ubuntu it may come from a Debian repository. I don't know how Ubuntu versions are related to Debian version, but your system should have that information somwhere.

  • If for some reason you need a newer version you may try the package from Debian testing. But this may fail due to incompatible dependencies. The package management system will tell you.

  • If you want you can always get the latest source tar-ball from http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/davfs2/ and build it on your system. It is easy to do, but please nevertheless read the file INSTALL in the top level directory. Also note that davfs2 will be installed in the /usr/local tree of the file system to avoid conflicts with the package managment.

Dear Werner, thank you for the fast return.

"press one key to clear screen ..." message is from a script, please ignore.

Well, Ubuntu recognize it as a webdav server. Probably, it may be a webdav-like protocol dedicated to the cryptomator.

Just one more question: my davfs2 is 1.4.7 version and I've seen more updates. What version is it most recommended to debian/ubuntu 14.04?

regards, Luís

"501 Method PROPFIND is not defined in RFC 2068 and is not supported by the Servlet API"
This is the error message davfs2 received from the server.

WebDAV is an extension to HTTP/1.1 and defined in RFC 4918. The server you are connecting to is not a WebDAV sever.

By the way: RFC 2068 is obsolete (obsoleted more than 15 years ago). HTTP 1.1 is defined in RFC 2616 and there is already a revision of RFC 2616 that will soon become the new proposed standard.

"press one key to clear screen ..."
I don't know where this message comes from. It is not generated by davfs2. If it is included in the error message from the server this would be very strange.

You should contact the support of cryptomator.

Dear Team,

I'm on ubuntu 14.04 LTS and have davfs2 1.4.7-3. I also had installed cryptomator webdav provider in the same machine was accessing this volume by davfs mount. From cryptomator 1.0.0 version when I try to access this volume, davfs2 return this error message:

/sbin/mount.davfs: Mounting failed.
501 Method PROPFIND is not defined in RFC 2068 and is not supported by the Servlet API
press one key to clear screen ...

This is the mount comand to access

sudo mount -t davfs $MY_URL $DIR_MOUNT -o username=${USER},rw,uid=1000,gid=1000,file_mode=700,dir_mode=700

I didn't find on web any similar problem.

thanks for any help.

Luis
