I have found the problem. It seems that Gnoppix will not work on the Promise IDE connection. I moved one of my cd/dvd drives to a standard IDE connection and now I am able to get Gnoppix to work just fine!

I purchased a Gnoppix 0.8 Live CD. When I try to use it, it will load. The progress bar shows that it has loaded. It pauses for a moment, then the computer reboots. I have tried to load it a number of times. The results are always the same. I am new to Gnoppix, so I have no idea what is happening. I would appreciate any help I could get. I would also like to know if there is information available on how to use Gnoppix. My computer uses a Asus A7V266-E motherboard with 1Gb ddr ram. It has a Asus V8200 T5 graphics card. It has a Toshiba DVD, a Plextor CDRW and a Seagate 60 Gb harddrive. The DVD and CDRW drives are connected to the Promise IDE connectors on the motherboard. The harddrive is connected to the standard IDE connector on the motherboard. It also has a Creative Audigy soundcard.

Thankyou
