Hi Jacob,

Thanks for the improvements. There are however some remaining issues:

  • The project's name is Quint, but it is registered as "Jacob Dawid". I cannot change the project's name, so I will delete this submission and wait for you to resubmit, OK?
  • You listed Quint as "official GNU software", but I don't think it has been approved by the GNU project. Please resubmit as a non-official project. You can also ask for evaluation in the GNU project: here.
  • Finally, per the Hosting requirements Savannah aims to be the permanent home of a project, not a mirror. We expect that you intend to leave github.

Thanks for all the hard work. Once you resubmit I promise a quick approval.

I am working hard to improve the code that is hosted on github currently. I will drop you a message as soon as it's worth to review the code.

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within two weeks I still do not get a reply, I will remove
your project.  You will still be able to register it again once
you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not,
please tell us--we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Hi Jacob,

I am evaluating your submission on behalf of Savannah, sorry for the delay.

There are a few issues with the project:

  • Some files lack the required GPLv2 headers, such as LineFont.src, Quint.pro, src/ColorTables.h.
  • Text-only files such as the README also require the headers, not necessarily on top of the file.

Can you provide an updated tarball so we can continue with the process? Thanks!

  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Quint is a graphical user interface for GNU Octave written in Qt. In contrast to the currently most developed QtOctave, Quint uses a terminal emulation instead of communicating with Octave over pipes which makes it possible to make full use of GNU Readline. It is written in C/C++ using Qt and does direct calls via the Octave API, to directly access symbol tables and other information. Also, it reuses parts of Konsole (Terminal emulation widget) and QtOctave. For better maintenance, it displays the bugtracker directly in the application making use of Webkit, as well as integrates the documentation. It is aimed to make MATLAB users feel familiar with Octave, hence the user interface uses the same terms that are used in MATLAB.

Other Software Required:

Octave + GPL
