I'd favour naming it 2.0 beta by now...

Ivan, 1.5.0 beta1 mainly depends on IPv6 bugs and task #12722 Improve IPv4/v6 address handling.

I'm tempted to just postpone those to a beta2 to have something to release that's kind of stable. Although the task #12722 issue gives me some headaches...

Any valuable input on this except for "yes, please release a beta"? :-)

I would like to know when the 1.5.0-beta will be released?

Hi, we still don't have any implementation of 6LowPAN and RPL for LwIP so I would stongly advise against adding this task for 1.5.0-Beta1. The main goal now is to have a stable release and this is a new feature (vs. bug fix).

(PS: at the moment I run 6LowPAN/RPL in a parallel uIP stack)

Hi Ivan

whether or not to support the 6LoWPAN and RPL? I'm looking forward to version 1.5 includes support for this, ^-^

   Best regards!

I'm going to start working on fixing reported bugs and merging all patches related to IPv6.

I'm not set up to use the win32/linux ports or contrib apps, so maybe someone else can take a look at that?

This should be a place to summarize what should be done for a first 1.5.0 beta (1st "official" release including IPv6 support).

Here's what I have on my list:
- add a "planned release" for 1.5.0 beta1 check all IPv6-related bug reports/patches (these should only include fixes, not addons, which can be done in a later beta or release)
- make the example ports (linux + win32) work correctly with IPv6 (if it doesn't already work)
- make the contrib apps work with IPv6, so people can see how IPv6 is used

Please feel free to add your comments on what should go in.
