Hi,

I approved your project :)
You'll receive a confirmation mail shortly.

According to advice from licensing@gnu.org, I changed documentation license from OPL back to GPL, but also added GFDL dual licensing option (without invariant sections). See doc/txt/LICENSE.txt

Hi.

Everything is good, except that I'm not sure the OPL is compatible with the GFDL (it's a free documentation license, but maybe it is nevertheless incompatible with the GNU project's recommended documentation license).

I mailed -email is unavailable- to get a definitive answer to this question, you were in carbon copy of that mail.

All under txt/ now updated to mention Open Publication License[*] without
LICENSE OPTIONS clauses[*]

Thank you, corrected.

I'm applying savannah in order to move the development due to recently
announced git project hosting. The sourceforge will no longer be
updated once the move is over. Necessary notifications and links to
indicate the move and direct people to new locations will be erected
and project web pages shut down.

Likewise for all my other applied projects to savannah.

Another point: Alexander (who is also reviewing projects) pointed that Emacs Tiny Tools is also hsoted at http://tiny-tools.sourceforge.net/

However, we do not allow to host your project on Savannah and
SourceForge at the same time, if Savannah is just a project mirror.
Your project development should happen primarily on Savannah.

Can you tell me how you plan to use your Savannah account?

Hi,

Ok for the bin/ part.

For the documentation, we only accept documentation under the GNU Free Documentation License (or compatible). The GNU GPL is not compatible with the GFDL and cannot be used for documentation at Savannah.

Would you consider switching to the GFDL?

Regards.

(btw there is no doc/txt/LICENSE.txt file :))

Update at

  http://cante.net/~jaalto/tmp/tmp/tiny-tools-20070905.2226.tar.gz

- bin/ directory unified
- doc/txt, doc/html were updated.
All *.txt files (and generated HTML) mention 'License:'.

The documentation uses same license as the code (GPL v2 or any
later version). Mentioned also in doc/txt/LICENSE.txt

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Please clean-up the license notices in the bin/ directory - some headers are incompatible (eg do not have a complete license header, or lack a proper copyright notice).

Also, in order to release your documentation properly and unambiguously under the GFDL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL (available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats) as a section of your works.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points, including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards.
