Hi Isidor,

I've changed the project name, this was done by using editing the project info on the Main menu,

Hi Jonathan,

thank you for approving my project. Unfortunately, now the system name has been renamed to "distamper", while the project name is still "proofstore". Is it possible to do something about that, so the naming will be consistent?

Best regards,

Isidor Zeuner <zeuner>

Hi Isidor,

I have approved your project as non-GNU and changed the name of your project to "distamper". You will receive an automated
e-mail containing detailed information about the approval. If you
would like to offer your project to the GNU project, please contact
the GNU Eval team, following the instructions at
http://www.gnu.org/help/evaluation.html .

Regards.

Hi Jonathan,

when I had submitted the project "distamper", the site asked me to log in again. After doing so, the project submission did not continue, so I tried again to submit. This time there was a message that the project name was already taken. I had not checked before if there was a project with that name, so I assumed that there was a collision with another project. So I renamed my project and submitted it under the name "proofstore".

As the first submission seems to have also succeeded, I'd prefer to keep the project under the name "distamper" as this sounds more catchy to me. And maybe it's worth to file a bug for the confusing behavior of the site.

Best regards,

Isidor Zeuner <zeuner>

Hi Isidor,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Looks like you submitted the same project before or at least use the
same description for the submission, can you tell us what project you
will keep or if one of them it's a mistake?

Regards,

Registration Details

  • Name: proofstore
  • System Name:  proofstore
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

This software provides data archiving resistant to tampering. It is intended to provide evidence for (tax/legal/etc.) authorities or partners. Instead of using an obscure approach relying on the software internals being secret, it works by creating strong mathematical evidence. Thereby, it creates more freedom for the user, because a program that achieves this goal without relying on obscurity can afford to be freely modifyable without losing the power of creating evidence. It uses free software tools like the git version control system, the procmail mail processor and the bash shell as its building blocks.

Other Software Required:

GNU bash, GPLv2, http://www.gnu.org
git, GPLv2, http://git.or.cz/
procmail, dual GPLv2 and Artistic License, http://procmail.org
