Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

The project license goes beyond the intent of the GNU AGPL. This makes it incompatible with the original AGPL, and thus we cannot accept it at Savannah.

At first glance, the license also does not fit in the Free Software Definition (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html). You may want to study this point.

Another thin: you must determine whether your project can run on a Free Software Java suite (see https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/JavaIssues and http://www.gnu.org/software/java/ for more information).

We recommend you to test your project using IcedTea, or GCJ + GNU Classpath, and ensure that your Java code runs on this Free Software Java suite.

IceTea is based on Sun's OpenJDK and uses free replacements for its proprietary parts. GCJ is the GNU Compiler for Java, part of the GCC (GNU Compiler Collection).  The Classpath project aims to develop a free and portable implementation of the Java API (the classes in the 'java' package).

More information is available at http://icedtea.classpath.org/ , http://gcc.gnu.org/ and http://www.gnu.org/software/classpath/ .

Please provide us with more information about this point.

Please register your project once more with the changes mentioned above.

Make sure to apply all changes requested, so you will only need to re-register once.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier registration will direct you to the proper location where you can re-register your project.

Regards.

Registration Details

  • Name: wikipool
  • System Name:  pool
  • Type: www.gnu.org portion
  • License: GNU Affero General Public License v3 or later (GNU Affero General Public License v3 or later with additional conditions)

Description:

POOL is free software product, POOL is under development in WikiOcean, Pune, India. We call it as Pure Object Oriented Language..

POOL is completely developed in JAVA programming language. For the GUI we used HTML, JSP, Servlet and Postgre SQL as Database.

This product is based on Object Oriented concepts for the data. The objects and its properties are stored as Master-PL. Each type of object is stored in Master and its properties in property Detail.

There are two ways of giving input to the system and taking output from the system. The first one is through SMS(short message service). There is a command format for adding, modifying, deleting and retrieving from database. It?s like a SMS Server. The receive thread reads incoming sms and forwards it to Control Module which after processing it generates response and passes it to sending thread. The other way of interacting with the project is through web. Every web page displayed is a webreport which uses one or more reports to display data. A webreport can contain other webreports in it. When each time a request comes by clicking a link or a button the incoming request parameters are passed to WebReportGenerator Module which depending upon request generates a string of html tags which is sent to client browser.

Other Comments:

I have added some conditions in true sprit of free software. please advice how to draft it better.
idea is to avoid takeover of good community projects by people with deep pockets.
