Description:

Project started to create software that could be used for carrying out exams on universities in automated way. In particular I make this software for University of GdaƄsk, Institute of Oceanography, Department of Marine Biology and Ecology (http://aliens.ocean.univ.gda.pl/ang/index.html). Code will be split into two parts - client and server, clients will be used by students and will fetch questions and then send answers to server, that will save them in some kind of database (SQLite or MySQL). Clients should be cross platform and will be written in Java programming language. I haven't decided languages for server part, but it will probably be one of or some combination of Ruby, Python and Java. Being cross-platform is not crucial for server part, it should run on GNU+Linux and with high probability it will run on other *nix-like operating systems.

Other Software Required:

Python Python Software Foundation License http://www.python.org/
Java GPL+linking exception http://openjdk.java.net/
Ruby GPL http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/
SQLite Public domain http://sqlite.org/
MySQL GPL http://www.mysql.com/
NetBeans GPL2+classpath exception http://www.netbeans.org/

Other Comments:

Netbeans is not a dependency, but I use it for development and there are parts of code/scripts/configuration files created by this software.

Code is in very early stage, I submit part that will be used for creating new exam files, it runs, but does pretty nothing right now.
