Thanks for approving the project. I changed the wording as per your recommendation. However, I have never used any sort of CVS or SVN before, so I may need assistance or pointers. I see that there are instructions on the left of the page, so I'll look there first.

Hi Collin -- thanks for making the changes, but please adjust the wording to be precisely what the GPL recommends:

... either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.

This will save people from wondering whether your variant wording is intended to mean something different.

I approved the project.  Happy hacking!

I have attached a new tarball with the revised license notices. It wasn't hard, as the project is barely started yet, and there are only three files so far including the README.

Hi Collin -- great, thanks!

Don't worry about changing the license request in the submission.  Your intent is the important thing.  We can proceed without opening a new project.

What would be great, though, is if you could upload a new tarball with the revised license notices.  That way I can check what you actually intend to use :).

Thanks again,
Karl

I have reconsidered, based on your feedback, and I am willing to use the license GPLv3-or-later. I will have to change the headers of a few files, but that should be okay. Though, it isn't clear how I can change the project as it exists from this page. Should I start a new project, or is there a way to correct this one?

Thank you for thinking of savannah and supporting GPLv3, but we cannot accept packages that use a license of GPLvN-only, instead of GPLvN-or-later.  I understand your concern, but it creates future compatibility problems, and there is an explicit promise that future GPL's will not be different in spirit.

So I've closed this.  If you reconsider and are willing to do GPLv3-or-later, please let us know.

Happy hacking.
