Looks perfect now -- submission approved.
The account's credentials should be sent to you in due course.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your project.

I have now also updated the files copied from autoconf, automake and libtool (doing nothing but incrementing "version 2" to "version 3").  I also updated the AUTHORS file to mention these files, since it previously claimed I had made everything.  I guess I'm so used at seeing these files, I forget that they exist.

The README file has been updated to mention dependencies and platform support.

Like with the previous change, the updated tarball is at the same URL as before.

Thank you for the rigorous quality control.

Hello,

I have been told by the Savannah team that it is legally allowed to replace the GPLv2+ license notices with GPLv3+ notices, even if you aren't the original author of these files.

The approval process is always a good time to bring all file licenses into sync, so I recommend to upgrade all GPLv2+ files.

Lastly, I'd like you to write a few lines about the external dependencies of the project (if any) and which systems you know the project runs on.
For example, "JP-Table has been tested, builds and runs on GNU/Linux and OpenSolaris." This text can be placed in the README and after approval on the description page of the project.

Hello,

I have uploaded a new version with a license header in every .c and .h file.  In the new headers, I don't use year ranges, and I added an explicit reference to the `COPYING' file.  I did not alter Makefile.am, because it is trivial.

I´m in the process of moving, and don´t have internet access yet.  I hope to get this sorted within the month.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within two weeks I still do not get a reply, I will remove
your project.  You will still be able to register it again once
you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not,
please tell us--we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hello,

I have reviewed your project submission and found the following issues which I think prevent the project from being approved right now. If you still wish to be hosted on Savannah, please upload an updated tarball.

According to Savannah's hosting policy, every non-trivial source file needs a copyright + license notice on top. This included header files and makefiles (e.g. jpt.h).

For the files you are the sole copyright holder of, it is recommended to license them consistently (i.e. same version of GPL).

"Do not abbreviate the year list using a range; for instance, do not write ‘1996--1998’; instead, write ‘1996, 1997, 1998’."
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/maintain.html#Copyright-Notices

It is necessary to include a verbatim license text for every license used in the archive.
"Include a verbatim copy of the license in your project as plain text, do not point users to an external source to get the license."

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: Junoplay Table
  • System Name:  jpt
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

A database designed for use from applications, similar to Berkeley DB.

The interface is designed to be very straightforward to use, requiring only a call to "init", "insert" and "close" to create a database file and insert a value into it.

Each database is represented by a single sparse table, that can have up to 2^32 (4 billion) columns and an "arbitrary" number of rows.

The database employs PATRICIA tries and bloom filters for fast data retrieval.  Newly inserted data is buffered in a splay tree (as well as a linear transaction log file) for fast data storage.

Unlike most databases, jpt supports the "append" operation, making it suited to build indexes.
