Right now, I have some experience for 32-bit uC from atmel and I have an access to AVR32 development board (I have NGW100 kit). Having a vast experience in avr programming, I am quite interested in this project and would like to discuss it further.

This will be good for students who are interested in working with C and assembly, learning how a library is built from the ground up, and working with code size constraints.

The difficulty level is medium to high. There is a lot of learning involved especially the instruction set and architecture of the AVR32.

The AVR32 tool chain currently uses Newlib which has both technical and legal problems.

The AVR32-LibC project is a brand new project, to provide a C library for the AVR32. However, this project will be modeled closely after the AVR-LibC project, so this is not necessarily working from the ground up.

The AVR32-LibC project needs help in creating certain standard C functions written in hand-optimized assembly for the AVR32.
