Hi,

We did not get a response from you, so we deleted your project from
the pending queue.

If you would still like to have your project hosted at Savannah,
please register it again.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier
registration will direct you to the proper location where you can
re-register your project.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your
project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the
time to deal with the registration issues.

Hi Andrey,

There's something that I do not have so clear as I want it, you wrote
that this project may be removed at Savannah, do you want to stop the
approval process and try to host your project in other place?, please
clarify this point.

Related to the source code or files, almost all of them have the
copyright and license notice missing. I do know yet how you will use
all this files, but if you will include them inside the tarball they
must go licensed, please fix this point.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide
us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we
will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

The metafont sources are:
ec fonts ftp://cam.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/ec/
lh fonts
ftp://cam.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/cyrillic/lh
cb greek fonts ftp://cam.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/greek/cb
tipa fonts ftp://cam.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/tipa .
Everything else including modified metafont files is distributed with Computer Modern Unicode fonts (look at cm-unicode-*-scripts.tar.bz2).

The words "I think that this project would be placed elsewhere" mean that this project at savannah may be removed.

Hi Andrey,

You said that they sfd aren't really source files, but you regenerate
this files running make, this means that there's a file source, can
you provide us with this source file?

Why you said "I think that this project would be placed elsewhere"? do
you want to host your project in other place?, please give us more
information about this point.

Hi

I shall account for your suggestions about License files but actually sfd files are not sources, they are regenerated on every run of make. The sources for fonts are mostly original metafont programs, which output is traced by mftrace, merged and processed by the fontforge. Moreover I hoped to place old versions on the server. I think that this project would be placed elsewhere.

Hi Andrey,

There's an exception in case that you want to license a font with the
GNU GPl, you can see it here:

    http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#FontException

There's no problem in use the X11 license but first, are you agree
with the GNU GPL exception or you still want to switch to X11 license?
please, let us know your decision.

In any case you have the drop the 'lppl.txt' file from your tarballs,
since you will not use this license, you must replace it for a file
called 'COPYING' with the license that you chose.

You must add the Copyright and License notice at the beginning of
every file, if you have problems adding them(like you cannot use
comments) you can create a file containing the Copyright and License
notice for all your font files. If this will be the case I suggest you
create files with a name like 'SDF-FILES.LICENSE', so the file name
explain for what files it's the Copyright and License notices inside.

Please, all your future answer write them to the tracker and not by
private email.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide
us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we
will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

<URL> Really this is not a program,
but fonts. I do not think that GPL is a good choice for fonts, it is too
restrictive. But it is a subject for discussion, probably might be changed to
X11.

Hi Andrey,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

We need a detailed technical description that specifies such
requirements as programming languages and external libraries.  It should
be at least one-half a page.

The license you chose qualifies your software as free software but it is
incompatible with the GNU GPL.

We only host software published under licenses compatible with the GPL,
which allows developers to combine files from any project without fear
of a licensing problem.

If you are willing to switch to a GPL-compatible license, please let
us know.

You can get a list of various licenses and comments about them at
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/license-list.html.

If you still wish to use your current license, we will be happy to
discuss it with you.

On the other hand, can you provide us with an URL to download the
source code? or if you prefer you can submitted to this tracker.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to
catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must
include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at
the beginning of every file of source code.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch
potential omissions such as these.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide
us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we
will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

Computer Modern Unicode fonts were converted from metafont sources using mftrace with autotrace backend and fontforge (former pfaedit). Their main purpose is to create free good quality fonts for use in X applications supporting many languages. Currently the fonts contain glyphs from Latin1 (Metafont ec, tc), Cyrillic (la, rx) and Greek (cbgreek when available) code sets.
