dbcommand".

I have approved this project.  You will receive an auto-generated
email containing detailed information about the approval.

I noticed you added a new file pod_to_savannah_publicinfo and 2
backups (*~), but you didn't added the propper copyright & licensing
information to pod_to_savannah_publicinfo.  If you are willing to host
the file at savannah add this info in the same manner as with rest
files.

Also, if Makefile grow +10 lines, it must also contain this
information.

Regards.

Thanks Kark.

Ole: Taking this into account, please put the appropiate copyright
holder in the files.  Don't remember to avoid ranges and list each
copyright year :).

Hi (again) Ole -- the FSF only accepts copyright on packages that rms has officially accepted.  If we should evaluate this for GNU too, you know the drill ...

Thanks,
k

New version added with the generated man page reflecting the license in the source.

FSF is part copyright holder, so they have authority to enforce violations.

This project isn't ready yet.  There are some issues to fixed:

*The man page need the licensing information, just as the code.
Actaullly all copyrightable files (> 10 lines long, by thumb rule)
must carry the propper copyright & licensing information.

*The copyright notice of dbcommand file uses ranges.  The GNU advice
is to list year by year.  Also I need you to check the copyright, Is
really the FSF the copyright holder?.

Please upload the code with this issues fixes and let us know when
done.

Hi,

I have approved your project. However I have changed the type from "Official GNU software", since (to the best of my knowledg) it has not been approved by the GNU project; if you want to make it an official GNU package please submit it here. Once it has been accepted (or if it is already part of GNU and I made a mistake) it can be changed back.

Thanks, and good luck with your project!

I've approved your project--welcome on board! :-)

You'll receive a mail notification with further instructions shortly.

Hi Ole,

I am reviewing your submission; I am quite new on this job, so please excuse any mistakes I may make in the process. The specified server seems to be down. Could you upload the tarball to Savannah using this interface? Thanks!

  • Name: dbcommand
  • System Name:  dbcommand
  • Type: Official GNU software
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later

Description:

dbcommand is a command line tool that unifies command line tools for databases and gives them a uniform look and feel. It uses DBURL for specifying the database.

Currently the command line tool 'mysql' for MySQL, 'psql' for PostgreSQL, and 'sqlplus' for Oracle.

This means these would work:

  dbcommand mysql://user:pa55w0rd@mysqlserver/database
dbcommand oracle://scott:tiger@oracleserver/xe "select * from users"
  echo "select 1+2" | dbcommand postgresql://user:pa55w0rd@pg.example.com/db

The dburls can be stored as aliases for convenient access through the command line.
wraps command line tools for databases. It uses DBURL as syntax for specifying the database.

Other Software Required:

Perl + Artistic license + www.perl.org
