Corresponding source code
Lingot should use libfftw (http://www.fftw.org/), which offers better performance and arbitrary sized FFTs.
The current code with the own FFT implementation should be keeped for compatibility reasons with other platforms without libfftw implementation. The choice must be made via the configure script, and the Debian package should require the dependency.
If we choose to use arbitrary size for FFTs, we can consider using a ComboboxEntry instead a Combobox for the FFT size parameter in the GUI. In that case, be careful when loading a configuration file with FFT size not being power of 2 when running Lingot without libfftw support.
